Finalize Yellen Park

The Yellen Family donated 24 acres to the City of Palmdale for the City to develop a 24- park. It wasn’t until June 1, 2017, that the City developed the first phase comprised of 12 acres. We had to wait 17 years to only get half of what not only we were promised. I have been successful in securing funding for shade structures at Yellen Park thru reaching across the aisle and asking for funding from Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District for... Social Equity

Prior to my 2016 Campaign, many of my constituents told me how they felt that east Palmdale was a step sister to west Palmdale. They felt that the facilities on the Eastside were not as well funded or planned as the westside facilities were. As a result, I introduced the Social Equity Element into the General Plan at the Council’s January, 2017 study session. This Element represents attempts by the Palmdale City Council to achieve equity for the City’s...Read More

Build a Soccer Complex

We all know how important it is for our kids to be active thru sports and how it helps them be more academically successful in school. Physical activity opens up their minds and helps them learn more at school. We must provide a center for our kids to be more active. I believe that we can have an outdoor soccer facility like Urban Soccer http://www.us5center.com/ or Goals https://www.goals-soccer.com/ in our City. These types of facilities are possible thru a Public/Private partnership.

What have you accomplished on the city council?

During my first 18 months as your Council member I have been able to accomplish the following: I have formed a Tri Agency committee that includes: the City of Palmdale, Palmdale School District, A. V. High School District, West Side School District, Palmdale Water District, L.A. County Sheriff Department, and L.A. Fire Department to communicate between agencies so as not to duplicate efforts to benefits our community...Read More

What is your favorite aspect of being a council member?

My favorite aspect is giving east side residents a voice for the very first time. The east side had been ignored for too long.

What are you looking forward to accomplishing if you are re-elected?

I continue to have Council and Staff conversations about building an indoor Soccer facility for our youth, why should we continue to have poor sports facilities on the east side of Palmdale? I say let’s have a “Best of the East” like we have on the west side,...Read More

Why should the residents of District 4 re-elect you?

My 5-year experience as an elected official, three with the Palmdale School District, and two as a Council Member, and my professional experience as of 14 years a City Planner have given me the experience and knowledge to move the City of Palmdale forward...Read More
